Corns and Titans shut out Bobcats, 4-0. Kayser leads team with great night at the plate.

The Notre Dame Titans escape Green behind CJ Corns’s 9 strikeouts, 4-0

Monday was a great day for CJ Corns, as Corns tossed a shutout to carry the Notre Dame Titans to a 4-0 victory over Green at Green High School in seven innings.

“Coming in to tonight’s game, CJ Corns felt great and looked even better on the mound. He had control of each of his pitches and it showed.” Mader said.

Corns put together a nice outing. Green managed just one hit off of Corns, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out nine during his seven innings of work.

Mader credited Corns and his pitching staff, “Any time you can shut a team out it is a great night, but to do it against a great team like Green shows just how hard our guys are working on the mound for us.”

Sam Kayser racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Notre Dame Titans. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

“Sam Kayser came up big for us tonight, he hit the ball hard all night with runners in scoring position and had a great approach today, super proud of him.” Mader added.

The Notre Dame Titans never surrendered the lead after the fourth inning, scoring three runs on a two-run double by Kayser and an RBI single by Chase Rodriguez.

“We had one small mistake to start the game, but refocused and took over like I knew we could. Give Green credit, their pitcher threw a great game tonight, and was exciting to watch two good teams go at it”.
