Titans win Father Patterson Wooden Bat tournament behind two wins

Notre Dame and Hungtington Ross kicked off this years’ Father Patterson Wooden Bat tournament in the 10am game.

Truman Hash went 2-3, helping the Notre Dame Titans to a 3-2 victory over Huntington Ross on Saturday at Notre Dame High School.

Hash singled in the second and fourth innings.

Hayden Baker baffled the Huntsmen, striking out 14 batters. Baker allowed only one earned run and one hit over seven innings.

The Titans jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, and brought home one run in the second inning. The Titans matched that run total in the fourth.

In the second, the Notre Dame Titans scored on an RBI single by Hash, bringing home CJ Corns.

Hungtington Ross tied the game in the third on a passed ball that scored Conley, but the Titans never surrendered the lead after the fourth inning, scoring one run on an RBI single by Hash.

Game 4 – Championship

The Notre Dame Titans’ offense didn’t make it easy on Tyler Speas, providing only two runs off of Rock Hill’s pitching on Saturday, but the Titans’ starter, Tyler Speas, was still able to get the job done. Speas threw seven innings on the way to a win in seven innings.

Sam Kayser helped the Notre Dame Titans take the lead for good in the sixth inning with his sacrifice fly, scoring . Speas walked to get on base in the sixth. He then went from second to third on an RBI single by CJ Corns.

Schob took the loss for Rock Hill. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed two runs.

Rock Hill’s lone run of the ballgame came in the third inning on an RBI single by Schob.

A key sixth-inning rally gave the Notre Dame Titans the lead for good. the Notre Dame Titans tacked on a total of two runs on An RBI single by Corns.
